Healthy Oreo Shake Recipe | refined sugar free, high protein, gluten free

Healthy Oreo Shake

This Healthy Oreo Shake reminds me of those Oreo Blizzards because it’s thick, sweet, and oh so satisfying for the sweet tooth inside all of us.  Little did anyone know, it’s all natural, refined sugar free, high protein, high fiber, and gluten free!

I have made four batches of my Healthy Homemade Oreos within the last two months.  They are just TOO. DAMN. GOOD!  And I seem to go through them just a tad bit faster than any other (normal) person would.  Kind of like how I used to fly through a package of real Oreos when I younger and ate sugar like it was my job.

With all these Healthy Oreos lying around, I’ve gotten creative with how to use them:

Oreo Cookie Butter

Cookies ‘n’ Cream Ice Cream

And now, this Oreo Shake!

My all time favorite Oreo treat as a kid was an Oreo Milkshake, so I HAD to make a healthier rendition.  I could make this recipe every single day.  It is soooo addicting, you can’t stop after one sip!

I love this nutrition label as much as I love this Healthy Oreo Shake itself!  Okay, I love it almost as much.  It’s hard to love anything as much as I love this shake.  But seriously, you can’t go wrong with 6g of filling fiber, 15g of satiating protein, and only 5g of (naturally occurring) sugar.  It’s SO much better than an Oreo Blizzard, where the SMALL SIZE has 620 calories, 24g fat, and a whopping 66g of sugar (that’s over ⅓ cup of sugar)!!!

Thankfully, this Healthy Oreo Shake exists now.  We can indulge in Oreo flavor without the white sugar, white flour, artificial flavors, and preservatives.

  1. Had a packet of oreos earlier. The craving was terrible! If only I’d had some of yours on hand…

Funny you should post this, I’ve dreaming of making some kind of dessert with oreos lately. I might just try and make your oreo recipe because I am seriously considering cutting out, or at least drastically reducing my sugar intake. I know it’s far too high, even though I consider myself to eat healthily enough. I’m just listening to a podcast on sugar and candida right now as part of the Hay House Summit (totally recommend that!) and it’s only reaffirming that idea.

Thanks for posting this recipe! 🙂

I’m so glad I posted this recipe today then! Oreos are really fun to make at home and it definitely pays off in the end 🙂
I read a little bit of this book called “Food Rules: An Eater’s Manual” a looong time ago, and I really liked what the author said about junk food: If you’re going to indulge in something, make it yourself! I think his example was French Fries? So instead of going to McDonald’s to get it make it at home from scratch. This will make the number of your indulgences drop dramatically, and maybe you’ll end up just getting rid of the junk food. That’s my rule with sugar… if I’m going to eat it, I’m gonna make it (like my all-time-loves Pop Tarts and Snickers)
But I totally know what it’s like, after my first exam in college I ate a whole tube of Oreos… what a bad sleep I had that night… 😉

  2. The cookies ‘n’ cream ice cream sounded so good that I really can’t wait for you to post the recipe ;-). And this milkshake omg I’m not the biggest fan of milkshakes but you sold me with this one, I love it!!

Oh gosh I used to LIVE for those DQ Oreo Blizzards! This milkshake isn’t tooth-achingly sweet like the DQ version and is drinkable rather than scoopable, maybe you will like this version better 🙂

  3. It looks yummy. 🙂

  4. Thanks for sharing this healthy and delicious Oreo Milkshake. Glad to see a healthy version of the Oreo milkshake. Can’t wait to try this one.
