Healthy Matcha Green Tea-Swirled Strawberry Ice Cream (Without An Ice Cream Machine!)
Healthy Matcha Green Tea-Swirled Strawberry Ice Cream! And best of all, you don’t need an ice cream machine to make this delicious, creamy, fruity, matcha tea-infused goodness.
It’s hard to believe this ice cream is refined sugar free, low fat and high protein.
When I was brainstorming recipe ideas, I thought of milkshakes, ice cream floats, frozen pies, ice cream sandwiches, a Neapolitan… but honestly, what’s better than straight up ice cream?
NUTTIN’ 😉
So I transformed a Vanilla Bean Frozen Dessert into an ice cream infused with strawberry and matcha green tea flavor.
Strawberries + Matcha go hand in hand, just like Peanut Butter + Jelly or Chocolate + Coffee. The sweetness of the strawberries offset the natural bitterness of the matcha, so together, they’re perfectly balanced. This ice cream isn’t too sweet, it’s not bland in any sense of the word, and it won’t make you feel guilty one bit. It’s low calorie, low fat, refined sugar free and high protein! This sweet, foodgasm-inducing ice cream is made without the refined white sugar, heavy cream, artificial flavorings and synthetic food dyes. I can’t believe it’s healthy. I feel like I’m having a meltdown (hehe, get it?) 😉

Recipe Notes
Would you ever guess that this recipe requires only 5 ingredients? Thank the LAWD!
Oh, and each of the GIANT glasses in the pictures has just 160 calories and 2g fat, plus 3g fiber and 18g protein! The equivalent amount of Haagen Dazs Strawberry Ice Cream has roughly 960 calories, 60g fat, 80g sugar and 16g protein. For realz.
Enjoy! I’ll be over here spooning this ice cream into my face…

I’ve been using Artic Zero. I’ll check out our Whole Foods to see if they have the Wink. I was wondering if I could use yogurt in place of the cottage cheese?
I’ve tried Arctic Zero too! I like how it’s low-calorie and everything but they still have sugar in them… 20g in each pint 🙁
I hope your local Whole Foods carries Wink! They’re mostly located in the Northeast area, but I got word that they will be expanding to the West Coast in the near future.
As for the yogurt replacement, I haven’t tried it but you can give it a shot! I recommend using plain, low-fat Greek yogurt because of the reduced water content. Regular yogurt might make this ice cream icy. Hope you like the recipe! 🙂

This ice cream looks SO delicious & I am obsessed with everything Matcha too. Wish I had one to devour now!
So, so, SO sad I can’t get Wink (or Arctic Zero, or even cottage cheese) here. Sad I have never lived in a country (let alone a city) with a Whole Foods. Maybe my next transfer will put me in one, and that will be my whole reason for accepting the transfer? Whole Foods? CHECK!
Lauren-
OH NO! NO WHOLE FOODS?!? I don’t know how I’d survive. I can’t believe there isn’t even cottage cheese near you. I’ll be crossing my fingers that your next transfer will be to a place with Whole Foods 🙂

This ice cream seriously looks SO delicious! I just love strawberries and am already looking forward to the strawberry season coming around here in Germany 🙂
Unfortunately, I don’t think I can get hold of anything like the Wink ice cream … although all of the flavours sound so tempting! ^.^
OOH, I can’t believe I have never heard of WINK!! Oh my gosh, gotta try it! It sounds amazing. This recipe looks amazing. It’s so pretty with the pink and green! 🙂
