Healthy Canadian Maple Peanut Butter Spread
Happy Canada Day!
Skippy with honey is sooo overrated, this is the new spread in town.
It has more flavor, more nutrients, and of course, more Canadian spirit 😉
Warning: This is incredibly addicting!
I think it goes without saying that this spread was short-lived…
Healthy Canadian Maple Peanut Butter Spread
Ingredients
- ½ cup Natural Peanut Butter (no sugar/salt/oil added)
- ¼ cup Pure Maple Syrup
- ¼ tsp Natural Maple Flavor
- 2 tbs Vanilla Whey Protein Powder
- pinch of Salt
Instructions
- In a medium-sized bowl, stir together all of the ingredients.
- Scoop into a jar, seal tightly, and refrigerate to store.
This spread is a healthy and delicious replacement for storebought peanut butters that are often loaded with refined sugars and hydrogenated oils. Natural peanut butter, pure maple syrup and some vanilla protein powder create the smoothest spread of all, with incredible taste. This is a snack that loves you back!

I love maple…such an underused ingredient!
This looks SO good! I’ve been mixing PB & organic, grade B maple syrup (from Trader Joe’s) together for awhile, but never thought to add protein powder. If you like coconut – PB, maple syrup & unsweetened coconut make an outstanding combination!
Mmm. Mm mm mm. You always know how to hook me into clicking from foodgawker, and I’m never disappointed!
Fabulous idea, way to integrate maple with peanut butter. Maple is so delicious!

Do you use Grade A or Grade B Maple Syrup?
Jules-
I used Grade B but Grade A will work just as well! 🙂
