Healthy Homemade Vegan Condensed Milk
I finally made two successful batches of vegan condensed milk!! I made a promise to you vegans out there that I would some day, and that day just came 🙂
This is the first batch, made with my vanilla sugar (absolutely delicious, it’s like pudding and frosting put together)
This is the second batch, made with that beloved coconut sugar (this is like dulce de leche or caramel)
Whichever version you choose to make you will be happy. This stuff is divine!
Healthy Homemade Sweetened Condensed Milk [vegan]
- Add the rice milk powder, sweetener and salt to a blender. Blend until it is a fine powder.
- Add the almond milk, coconut oil and vanilla to the blender and puree for about 2 minutes, or until thick, creamy and smooth.
- If you want it thinner, add 1-2 tbs of almond milk to the blender and adjust it as needed (see notes!)
In terms of using this condensed milk, be careful. If you refrigerate any leftovers it will firm up slightly from the coconut oil, so let it come to room temperature before you use it. I have also used this condensed milk to make Magic Bars and Seven Layer Bars... instead of pouring the condensed milk into the pan over the toppings, you must must MUST stir all the toppings (like pecans, chocolate, coconut) into the condensed milk, otherwise it will just sit on top of the bars like a frosting. Trust me, I did that!

This recipe might not be the same color as the storebought stuff, but I promise you, it’s just as sweet and creamy. You’d never know it’s refined sugar free, low fat, high protein, gluten free and vegan! I could eat this by the spoonful.
